Savannah-the hotel~

We had a wonderful time in Savannah last week!  I took tons of pictures, so I decided it would be best to break them down into categories and create a weeks worth of posts.

First up, our hotel.  We stayed at the Avia, smack dab in the middle of the historic district!  The Avia opened in 2009 (we believe renovated after prior tenants left). The Avia has four hotels only nationwide, Long Beach, Napa, The Woodlands (outside Houston) and Savannah.  I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Savannah and tour the historic district and riverstreet.  The hotel was clean, the staff very personable, and everything was within walking distance!!!  We only took the car out for a day trip to Tybee Island.  The hotel is situated one building over from the famous Paula Dean Lady and Sons restaurant, a stone's throw away from the town green and fountains and less than a block from City Market.  A quick walk across Bay Street will find you in the River District.

I'll let the pictures do the talking...

Mark and I had a great time discussing the lighting used in the room...stay tuned...it'll be revealed in tomorrow's post!

Looks like a great place to say. I may have told you before but we stayed at The Marshall House when we were there but that was in 2009. My sister and I have been talked about going back to Savannah (with our husbands of course)! I'll keep this place in mind.

Such a beautiful town and so much do to!

What a lovely hotel room. I could totally sit by that fire pit and relax. I use to swim at the Woodlands - small world!
