I was itching for a bit of sunshine indoors, so I picked up these beautiful sunflowers the other day at the market.
And, I've been meaning to share this beauty...my Valentine's Day present (hubs was there, but I got to pick it out)...
I love orchids, but they don't tend to love me...so the fact that this beauty still has blooms on it is quite amazing. Now, don't get me wrong...I can keep the actual plant alive, I can just never keep the blooms for long and have NEVER been able to get one to rebloom. This one is actually two plants placed together in the larger container. I have always had trouble knowing how much water they need. Well, the directions this one came with (from Trader Joes) said a couple ice cubes, once a week (so in this case, 4, since there are two plants)...I can do that!!! So far so good. And, at $21, hubby's exact words, "even if it only blooms for a month, it is still cheaper than me buying flowers every week!" LOL Thanks honey.

I love your flowers. I just purchased an orchid from our building management...they were changing out the flowers and sold the orchids for $15 a piece. I was not able to keep my last one alive, so hopefully I do better this time around. :) Hope you are all safe and doing okay after that crazy weather!

Yours are so pretty !!!! It was zero here last night and too cold to go walking out side so, I am going to have to hit the dreaded awful treadmill.

I can't never get an orchid to rebloom. No green thumb over here. We have had such crazy weather here as well. 80 yesterday.. . cold the end of the week!
That weather was so scary! I was up pretty much all Friday night. That is a beautiful orchid! They are such a simple, yet gorgeous flower. I'm with ya- I can't get one to rebloom either!
i'm jealous of your warm weather! it is supposed to up to 50 today and I couldn't be more excited! my husband and i got an orchid for our wedding and it died right away. : ( your's is beautiful! i hope it lasts long!
Seeing beautiful flowers in a post always make me feel happy inside. Thanks for sharing those lovely flower images. The sunflowers look so nice.
Love the sunflowers!
Oh I love sunflowers...they're so cheerful! Enjoy the sunny weather!
We must be from the same mold, I absolutely love Orchids but like you can't keep them very long. They just end up being green sticks with leaves and no blooms. Not so pretty then :) Have a happy weekend!
They are beautiful! I have the world's worst brown thumb ever! I will have to try the ice cube trick.
Love, love orchids! That will be so nice to have around!
What beautiful sunflower pictures and how gorgeous is your orchid! xo
Those flowers are gorgeous...and yes, this weather is so crazy! so glad everything went well with the colonoscopy!
So pretty! I adore Orchids and predict that you'll keep this one alive and that it will rebloom for you next year. Using ice cubes to water it is a great idea! It may also appreciate some diluted Miracle Grow every once in a while.
