Our Baby is a College Graduate!

On May 15th, we had the privilege of watching our baby girl walk across the stage at the Ferrell Center and receive her diploma.

The hard work paid off!

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences Disorders from Baylor University in 3 years!!!!!  And graduated Cum Laude.  Actually, was .05 from graduating Magna Cum Laude. However, graduating with honors, many 4.0 semesters, while serving in a sorority, hours of community service and working part-time at a local church serving many special needs children, is nothing short of AHHHMAZING!

We could not be more proud.

Proud mom and dad!

Could not have moved her home without this gem!!

The smile from ear to ear says it all!

This girl loves Theta and Lilly!

The "signature" pose!

Time to turn that ring around!

She will further her studies come fall, wearing orange!  Quite a change from the green and gold.  She plans to earn her Masters in Speech Pathology, and land her dream job of working on a cranial facial team working with children born with cleft palates.  A worthy ambition!

She was and continues to be a bright light for her Heavenly Father wherever she goes.

Proud of you sweet girl!!

My husband and I are often asked how we mananged to raise two girls who were extremely focused and both of whom graduated early?  Our answer,  "find your God given talent/passion, embrace it, work hard for it, and pray ALOT!!"

We can't wait to see what this new chapter holds for both of our girls.

Reflections, A Mother's Day Addition~

Since I actually started this little old blog on Mother's Day awhile back, I thought it would be fitting to reflect on Motherhood today.

In no particular order...

It's been 6 months...

As many of you know, back in the fall of last year I was met with a challenge that was completely unexpected.  The possibility of cancer.  I shared my two month journey here on the blog.  I shared my fears, my prayers and finally the outcome.  It was not cancer!  In the months since, I have watched countless friends I know receive not so great news. I've been witness to the loss many have endured.  I had my 6 month follow up today, and could not be more humbled and grateful that all is well, and my scans were clear.  God is an AWESOME God, and is totally in charge.

I thought I would share a few quotes I found recently that touched my heart.  I also wanted to thank each of you again for praying with me, for me, and to Him.  Please continue to pray, as each day someone receives the not so encouraging news.  Pray for a cure.

He is more than gracious!!

Easier said than done, but doable if you then read and keep the next verse close to your heart...

Amen!

Surprisingly,  this showed up several places I visited this morning...He knew I needed the reminder.

And, that is a GOOD THING!!

Something I intend to work on this year!

Reflections~ Change Is In The Air

How did it get to be May already?  The past few weeks have been a bit of a blur.  A good blur, I might add.  Hubby and I had a wonderful time in Hawaii.  Hope to post pictures of the trip soon. We spent the entire weekend doing yard work.  Pollen and TONS of rain make for a lot of clean up!!

While we were away our oldest made a HUGE decision to leave the school she is currently teaching at, and her students she loves so much, to take on a new position at another school for the upcoming school year.

And, Baby Girl is graduating from Baylor in less than 2 weeks!!

One, maybe both, might be moving home for a bit.

Changes...all good, all exciting, but a bit daunting nonetheless.

We could not be more proud of each of them.  The above quote really does sum it up.  While these chapters in their lives come to a close, so many more doors have been opened and opportunity awaits.

New beginnings...exciting and scary all rolled into one.  But definitely a  BLESSING!!
