Hello friends! Yes I do realize it is Tuesday, but my inspiration for Motivational Monday didn't occur until late last evening. So, I decided it would be okay to share it on Tuesday.
Most of you know we had some icy weather this past weekend here in Atlanta
Our new neighbors across the street (moved in last week) had placed a TON of boxes out for pickup. Nothing wrong with that (honestly recycling should have taken them but didn't), EXCEPT...they didn't break any of them down. I am sure you can picture what that crazy pile
I didn't have any disposable coffee/hot cocoa cups on hand (and honestly didn't think even with my Keurig I'd get it made in time), so I did the next best thing. I grabbed a bottle of Coca Cola and ran across the street to thank him.
The look on his face said it all. To be recognized for going above and beyond on a cold night, working a mostly thankless job. It was much appreciated.
Of course after the fact I prayed I had grabbed the bottle with the fancy new pull top :-0
So with that, I encourage you to find some small way to make someones day just a bit brighter today.

This is such a sweet reminder and that was such a kind thing to do!! Thank you for reminding us. I'll share this on Facebook.
Years ago when I was teaching in Oklahoma, we had some of those days that were 20 degrees. I had parking lot duty!! A mom brought those of us in the parking lot hot chocolate one day. I will never forget that.
Little things really do matter. :)
This is a great post - I have been seeing that sentiment a lot lately - do something nice for someone else if you want to feel better, too. It's not selfish if it blesses others, so you get a two-fer! I will look for such an opportunity today!
What a great thing to do, Lauren! Good for you. Our snow plowing crew was here this morning and since John has had cancer they also do our walks and right up the steps to our front door. This morning I opened the door and thanked them. I wish I had of had some fresh bakery to give them but I didn't. They were so grateful that I just said Thank You! Amazing how far a little kindness goes.
Here you HAVE to break everything down or the recycling truck will not pick it up. How wonderful that guy did that for them...and how great of you to give him a Coke. Hope he didn't have to use his teeth to get the top off! lol xo Diana
Such a sweet gesture Lauren! So important to recognize on a daily basis the hard work and compassion of others.. He will never forget how you made him feel with that bottle of Coke and I hope he passes it on just like we all should!
I can imagine how happy he was!
Thank you for that...
And for the inspiration!
We are getting some snow today...
Then Thursday it is going be 50!!!
Have a cozy day. : )
You are so sweet - what a nice thing to do!
Sounds like a Coca-Cola commercial to me!
So sweet of you! I'm sure it was really appreciated too. I've given out Gatorade like that in the summer. It really is the little things that sometimes mean the most. Oh, and we had subs for our mail service for a long time. Not fun. :)
