Teacher Gift #2

Car Kits

Pencil boxes aren't just for their students.  Here's what you will need to create "car kits" for your favorite teachers:

Pencil Box or Large Pencil Pouch

Paint Markers or Stickers-should you choose to personalize the outside as seen above

Suggested items to fill the box with:

pens
pencils
sharpie marker
highlighter
mini notepad, or post it notes
hand lotion
chapstick
small pack of kleenex
pack of gum or mints
hand sanitizer
bandaids
rubberbands
paperclips
stamps
envelope (one regular, one legal)
bookmark
Starbuck gift card
Gas card

The object is to fill the boxes with travel size versions of things they might need on the run.  You can easily find these items in the travel section of your local drug store or Target/Wal-mart.  Then add a few stationary items to the box.  A gift card for coffee and gas is a BONUS!

The boxes also make great gifts for the teen who just got their first car or for the young adult headed off to college.

The "car kits" have been a huge hit with teachers and teens alike.  Moms on the go would love them too!

Teacher Gift Ideas are Here!

I had hoped to get this series up sooner, but with computer troubles, Thanksgiving, a sick child, and planning a graduation party,  it just didn't happen until now.  As a mom of an 18 year old and an almost 22 year old, we've given out our fair share of teacher gifts over the years.  I thought I'd share a few that have stood the test of time, and were enjoyed by all who received them. All are gender neutral as well, so if your child has a male teacher they work for them as well.

First up, an UMBRELLA...

Everyone can use an umbrella!  The teachers find these useful for days when they have bus or carpool line duty and it's raining.

We attach a cute little poem to the ones we give.

Here's a new umbrella,
wide and high.
It will keep you cozy,
warm & dry.
If the rain starts falling
from the sky,
Just open me up &
you'll stay dry.

I'll be back tomorrow with another idea!

Thankful and Sufficiently Stuffed!

Hi all!

Just a quick note today as I am trying to spend as much quality time with my family while they are available! It is hard to believe this was our last Thanksgiving before my sweet hubby and I become empty nesters next fall when our youngest goes off to college.  However, I am quite confident she'll make her way home for turkey dinner next year (she loves to cook and loves homemade food).

We had a busy week leading up to Thanksgiving.  Our youngest had the entire week off, which was so nice.  Things were going quite smoothly until my laptop got hijacked on Tuesday with the worst virus we have yet to come across!  My poor hubby had to spend HOURS (more than 8) trying to get rid of it.  So, beware...there is a new one out there that is a doozy!!  It continuously hid ALL my files.  Even once we got everything restored, I realized some things were missing.  Well, they really weren't, just hidden.  Such a pain.  Just a reminder to BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER FILES REGULARLY!!! Thank goodness I did!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving Day with their loved ones.  My sil cooked for our family and it was so nice to be able to sit and enjoy everything.  Over the years our family as a whole has learned to slow down and simplify the holidays...we want to enjoy and remember them, not rush through them.

Any of you joining the Black Friday madness????  I used to go out years ago, now I prefer to stay home and start my Christmas decorating.  And, after seeing the headlines across the internet about people being shot, robbed and pepper sprayed all in the name of saving a buck...I am REALLY content staying home.

We have a small turkey in the oven (we love leftovers and since we ate at my sil's we didn't have any), and plan to watch some Christmas shows on tv.  And, these little guys will most likely make their holiday debut...

I know it Christmas when they arrive!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!
