We have managed to make a little progress on our basement however. The floors are done, the walls just about complete and we have some trim work to finish up before the painters can come in (I am not big on painting, nor is hubby, so we are hiring this one out!).
So, here's a glimpse at what we've been up to...
We have walls and new floors! |
The floors are done, the walls are up, now we just need to finish the trim and add a couple doors...then it will be ready for the painters. If you remember we are on a deadline for September 30th, our youngest's 18th birthday!
We've made tons of progress in just one months time, and we have kept costs to a minimum.
Okay, now for keeping things real...
The "unfinished" part is screaming for some organization, and some serious purging!! The girls laugh...they keep saying, "mom, why did you keep that?" Well...like every good mom, I thought maybe they'd want it for "later in life" to show the grandkids. They just laugh, and tell me, "it's okay mom...we'll be fine without the 10 pieces from Plaster Palace, and the rubber duck collection, and the ten boxes of school papers!" Mom might not however...
I hope your daughter feels better. We have volleyball tryouts too this week. I'm coaching the freshman team at my oldest daughter's high school. I wish we had a basement. We live in earth quake country so basements aren't practical. Can't wait to see the finished project.
ReplyDeleteyeah for walls and new floors. looks great. keep up the great work. and good luck with v'ball
ReplyDeletei love the brick you put in the basement, looks reat cant wait to see it completed!
ReplyDeleteI am just as bad about keeping "things they might like to have later" haha! Just so you know..I am super jealous you have a basement - TX dwellers aren't so lucky ;) unless you want to pay double for your home.
