Snow Ya'll

This has by far got to be the craziest year for weather!  It was almost 70 just a couple days ago, and now this...

Our outdoor bar area has already received a dusting.

The pond has ice!

This is the back porch...

Most schools were in session today, many scrambling now to send kids home early.  The roads are dicey in many spots (particularly our overpasses like Spaghetti Junction).  And, the slip and slide has begun...so many accidents already.

My oldest had to run home this way for a doctors appointment earlier and is just praying she can make it up the hill at her apartment complex north of town.  Not fun!!  While she hates having to take a day off from teaching, today was the day as they are sending those kids home 2 hours early.

To my fellow Atlanta bloggers, be safe.  Praying all get home safely that were out and about, or at school and work.

Ron-this is a dusting...I am sure you are experiencing it today! LOL

Diana-go  ahead and laugh...hubby and I are both from the North.  Our neighbors will be calling us to pull them out, run to  the store, etc!

Snow is one thing, but here in Georgia were prefer ice! NOT!!!

LOL- Gotta love those Southern drivers that don't know what to do with slippery roads. We have so much snow this year and today it is MINUS 45 with wind chill. All our schools are once again closed. Many stores are opening an hour or two late. Thank you Barnes & Noble where I sat in the car for almost an hour waiting for you to open...lol

Have a great COLD Atlanta day! xo Diana

Schools canceled in Raleigh NC today and not one flake until 7PM tonight. Poor kids have to go on Saturday to make up the day! We are finally getting heavy snow now.

Sure is beautiful!

We are experiencing something similar here in Texas, but not as much snow! The whole city shuts down. But I can't complaint -- at least there was no traffic on my way to and from work this morning!

Lauren how are you my dear? It has been frigid beyond here in Kansas City! Spring will be so welcome this year!

The snow and cold seems to be everywhere. We are used to it in the Midwest and I am just amazed to see it in Southern states. Stay warm. I know how you worry about your kids...3 of mine no longer live at home and I always worry about them. I would love if you'd pop in!

XO,
Jane

It's crazy isn't it?! We are having a warmer than usual winter here in WA state and I'm concerned about the lack of snow pack. The salmon, and other wild live .. not to mention all of our rivers and streams will be dry this summer. I guess it's one or the other this year! Hopefully this will pass and we will get to a more normal season. Careful driving! I know what you mean about not being used to it. Even a dusting can case problems if you live in a hilly area or if it's icy. Take care Lauren!

I've red that some commuters were marooned for hours on highways and on ramps; while others abandoned their cars and walked home through the snow. I hope that all your loved ones were safe at home and didn't have to go through that.

Well...let's just say the next time there is even a threat of snow I will not be going ANYWHERE... I never could have imagined sitting in my car for 8 1/2 hours for what is usually a 30 minute drive... that was completely ridiculous however my extra winter vacation is kind of nice :)
Love you!

Gosh I hope if we get snow in the next couple of days it's not that bad. My kids are out of school tomorrow! I sent my husband on a grocery run just in case.
